Abstract

The data were obtained with a questionnaire for demographic characteristics, Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale and Attitude Towards Complementary and Alternative Medicine Scale (HCAMQ). In the evaluation of the data, Kolmogorov- Smirnov test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskall-Wallis test and Spearman Correlation Analysis were utilized. RESULTS: The mean age of the mothers participated in the study was 29,57 ± 5,14 years, 39,6% of them were university graduates and 55,2% of them were employed in any job. The mean total score of the mothers with respect to complementary, alternative, and conventional medicine was found to be 28,66±5,99, and the mean total score of breastfeeding self-efficacy scale was 58,58±8,17. There was no positive correlation between CAMAS and breastfeeding self-efficacy scale (p>0.05). CONCLUSION: As a result of the study, it was determined that mothers’ breastfeeding self-efficacy is high and their attitudes towards complementary and alternative medicine are close to negative.
