Özet
Kulak hastalıklarında preoperatif araştırmalar, yapılacak cerrahi öncesinde temel hastalığı tanımlar. Ancak bazı hallerde tüm klinik ve radyolojik araştırmalara rağmen klinisyen doğru tanıyı koymada tereddüte düşer. Eksploratif timpanotomi orta kulak yapılarını gözlemede emniyetli yegane cerrahi girişimdir. Bu makalede, işitme kaybı nedeniyle eksploratif timpanotomi uyguladığımız 13 hastanın klinik bulguları ile birlikte eksploratif timpanotomi endikasyonları tartışıldı.
Abstract
Preoperative clinical evaluation remains the basis in determination of an appropriate surgical procedure for the patient with otologic disease. Sometimes, however, after a most complete clinical and radiological work-up, the clinician will be in doubt about the correct diagnosis. Exploratory tympanotomy provides a unique and helpful, safe and minor surgical procedure that allows direct visualization of contents of the middle ear. In this article, thirteen patients who had exploratory tympanotomy for hearing loss and contemporary indications for exploratory tympanotomy were discussed.
