Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi Öğrencilerinin Meslek Yüksekokulu Özelinde Yükseköğrenim Tercihlerinin İncelenmesi: Çanakkale İli Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi 12. Sınıf Öğrencileri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Özet
Bu çalışmada Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi (MTAL) 12. Sınıf öğrencilerinin lise öğrenimleri sonrası meslek yüksekokulu başta olmak üzere yükseköğrenim tercih durumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma 2017-2018 birinci döneminde Çanakkale ilinde yer almakta tüm Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesinde (6 okul) yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın örneklemini bu 6 devlet MTAL öğrenimlerine devam etmekte olan toplam 428 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş olan yükseköğrenim tercih anketi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma betimsel nitelikli tarama modelinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışmadan elde edilen veriler araştırma sorularının cevaplanmasına yönelik tanımlayıcı istitastik yöntemleri ve Ki-Karetesti kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre MTAL mezun durumunda olan öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri alanlara ait lisans ve önlisans tercihleri olduça sınırlı düzeydedir. Öğrencilerin illerinde yer alan MYO’lar ve bu okullarda bulunan alanlar hakkında bilgi düzeyleri de oldukça sınırlıdır. Öğrencilerin ilk tercihlerini polislik, askerlik gibi alanları dışında garanti iş potansiyeli oluşturduğunu düşündükleri alanlar oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca, öğrencilerin yüksek öğrenm tercihleri cinsiyete göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık gösterirken yakın çevresinin mesleki eğitimden (lise, önlisans) mezuniyet durumuna göre farklılık göstermemektedir.
Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to investigate the higher education especially vocational college preference of the12th grade students of Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (VTHS) after high school education. The study was carried out in the first period of 2017-2018 in all the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools (6 schools) in the province of Çanakkale. The sample of the study is a total of 428 students continuing their VTHS education in these 6 schools. Higher education preference questionnaire developed by the researcher was used as data collection tool. The research is conducted in a descriptive scanning model. The data obtained from the study were obtained using descriptive statistics and chi-square test for responding to the research questions. According to the results of the study, the students graduated from the VTHS are limited in their preferences for undergraduate and associate degrees. The level of knowledge about the Vocational Schools and the departments in these schools is also very limited. It constitutes the departments where the students think that they make their first choice with guaranteed business potential outside the fields such as policing and military service. Besides, the students' preferences for higher education differ statistically according to the gender, and the proximity of their neighborhood does not differ according to the graduation status of vocational education (high school, associate degree).
