Hayatlarının her bölümü din çerçevesinde şekillenir.
Abstract
The Akan are a cluster of peoples living in Africa. The Akan involve many communities that share a similar ethnic structure, language, faith and cul-ture. It is the Asante that stand out among these communities. Today, the Asante, an ethno-religious society, continue their existence with their mon-archy regime within the borders of the country of Ghana. The Asante have a unique religious tradition and culture in Africa. This community believes in a supreme deity called Nyame. This deity, deus otiosus, interferes with the life of the Asante through the inferior deities. The Asante people commu-nicate with Nyame through intermediary deities and ancestral spirits. Peo-ple try to please the deity by various offerings. The Asante that have their own unique religious ceremonies, feasts and practices, are like the main mod-el of the Akan. For the Asante, religion is at the center of life. Every part of their life is shaped within the framework of religion. Birth, adolescence, mar-riage and death ceremonies are celebrated according to their beliefs. The As-ante express their understanding of God, the universe, human and the hereafter with various symbols. Although this community have a considerable mass in Africa, it is not well known in the world. This study aimed to introduce this ethnic and religious community, which is not well known in our country. Within this framework the Asante who are the one of the branch of the Akan have taken an approach named as “New Comparison” which has been accept-ed as up to date according to contemporary religions anthroology statistics.
