Bulgular: Muayene dosyalarının reprospektif olarak incelenmesi sonucunda muayenesi yapılan sekiz yüz elli dört çalışanın %34,8’i (n:297) ARh+, %21,2’si ORh+ (n:181), %13,2’si BRh+ (n:113), %5,4’ü AB Rh+ (n:46), %3,6’sı ARh- (n:31), %3,2’si ORh- (n:27), %2,2’si BRh- (n:19), %0,9’u AB Rh- (n:8) ve %15,5 (n:132) bilmiyor/hatırlamıyor bulunmuştur. Kan grubunu bilen/hatırlayanlarda A kan grubu %45,5, 0 kan grubu %28,7 , B kan grubu %18,3,AB kan grubu %7,5 , Rh+ %88,2(n:637), Rh- %11,8(n:85) bulunmuştur.
Abstract
Objective: ABO and Rh blood groups were also questioned and recorded during periodic medical examinations in the central districts, provincial directorate and 112 emergency health services at Kayseri Occupational Health and Safety Unit. It has been determined that some employees did not remember or did not know their blood groups. In the study, it was aimed to determine the blood group distributions of the employees and their knowledge of blood groups. Material and Method: ABO and Rh blood groups were investigated retrospectively through the records of periodic medical examinations performed in 2018 and the first 6 months of 2019 for the employees of Kayseri Provincial Health Directorate and its affiliated units. The results were obtained by calculating frequencies and using chi-square test through SPSS 21 program. Findings: As a result of the retrospective investigation of the medical examination records, it was found that, of the eight hundred and fifty-four employees examined, 34,8% (n: 297) had A Rh+, 21,2% (n: 181) had O Rh+, 13,2% (n: 113) had B Rh+, 5,4% (n: 46) had AB Rh+, 3,6% (n: 31) had A Rh-, 3,2% (n: 27) had O Rh-, 2,2% (n: 19) had B Rh-, 0,9% (n: 8) had AB Rh- blood types and 15,5% (n: 132) did not know/remember their blood group. Among those who knew/remembered their blood groups, the percentages of A, O, B, AB, Rh+, Rh- blood types were found to be 45,5%, 28,7%, 18,3%, 7,5%, 88,2% (n: 637), 11,8% (n: 85), respectively. It was found that age and unit in which the employees work create a statistically significant difference in the awareness of blood type. Conclusion: In this study, there was a group of employee (15,5%), who did not know/remember their blood type. The institutions such as Provincial Health Directorates, that incorporate hazardous and very hazardous jobs and units should be much more conscious about this issue. Further studies to be conducted among larger groups would be more useful.
