Hasta grubunda 17 kişide A tipi normal (% 56.7), 10 kişide B tipi relakse postür (% 33.3) ve 3 kişide C tipi postür tespit edilirken, 2. grupta 28 kişide (% 93.3) A tipi normal, 2 kişide B tipi relakse postür olduğu gözlendi.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the frequency of postural abnormalities of neck, back and shoulders in patients having pain at these regions. The relationship between postural abnormalities and pain was also searched. Thirty patients having neck, back or shoulder pain between 20-40 ages and 30 healthy volunteers without pain were taken into the study. All subjects were asked to complete a pain questionnaire. Besides the postural analysis with the help of a plump line, assessment of head and shoulder positions, degree of malposition and kyphosis were worked out. There were 17 (% 56.7) patients with normal type A, 10 (% 33.3) with relaxed type B and 3 (% 10) with type C posture in the first group. However, in the control group there were 28 (% 93.3) volunteers with normal and only 2 (% 6.7) persons having type B postural alignment. This difference between the postural types of th,e groups was statistically significant (p<0.01). The pain, severity at C1, C2 and B2 regions was higher in patients having postural abnormalities of neck, back or shoulders. Finally, in the light of the results of this study, it is concluded that there is a close relationship between neck, back or shoulder pain with postural abnormalities.
