Abstract

Several studies have reported that the youngpeople are exposed to high risk of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) due to insufl'icient knowledge on sex, use of contraceptive methods and STDs. The aim of the study was to evaluate the knowledge levels ofvocational health school students on sexual and reproductive health. The population of this descriptive study included 521 Grade-I and Grade-2 students at the Baskent University Vocational School of Health Services. No sample was chosen for the study, but instead 388 students who consented to participate in the survey were included. Frequencies, percentage, median and standard deviation values are used in presenting the sado-demographic data about the students as well as the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Knowledge Measure responses. Chi--square test was used to compare diferences between groups over two thirds (68.2%) ofthe students scored medium in the SRH test. There were statistically significant difi'erences noted between the sex, marital status and previous education on the subject and average SRHtest scores.
