Özet

CW klasik termal laser tedavisinin, çeşitli nedenlere bağlı ola- rak gelişen maküla ödeminin tedavisinde önemli bir yeri olmakla beraber, ciddi yan etkiler gelişebilmektedir. Bu yan etkileri ön- lemek veya en aza indirebilmek için, termal laser ile ilgili bazı modifikasyonlar yapılmış ve çeşitli teknik gelişmeler olmuştur. Bunlarla ilgili en son gelişme eşik altı mikropulse laser teknolo- jisidir. Komşu retinada termal hasar oluşturmaması, fotokoagü- lasyon yerine fotostimülasyon yapması ile maküla ödemlerinin tedavisinde yerini almaktadır.

Abstract

Continues wave (CW) thermal laser treatment still has impor- tant place in the treatment of macular edema secondary to va- rious retinal diseases, but may be associated with some serious adverse events. In order to prevent or decrease the incidence of these adverse eff ects, important improvements and modifications were done in conventional destructive thermal laser such as su- bthreshold micropulse laser tecnology. Micropulse laser does not cause collateral thermal damage, and produces photostimulation rather than photocoagulation
