Aorto-koroner bypass cerrahisi sonrası görülen sternum enfeksiyonları

Özet

Ağustos 1994- Aralık 1997 tarihleri arasında 366 olguya izole aorto-koroner bypass cerrahisi uygulanmıştır. Bu olgular arasında 23 olguda (% 6,2) sternal enfeksiyon gelişmiştir. Bu hastalardan beş olgu (% 22) mediastenit gelişmesi ve multipl organ yetmezliği ne-deniyle kaybedilmiştir. Enfeksiyon gelişen olguların (23 (%6.2) olgu) 4 tanesinde (%18) sadece venöz greft, 17 olguda (%74) tek taraflı "Internal Thoracic Arter" (İTA) kullanılmış, 2 olguda (%8) ise iki taraflı " Internal Thoracic Arter" kullanılmıştır. Bununla beraber enfeksiyon gelişimindeki diğer risk faktörleri gözden geçirilmiş ve literatür bilgileri ışığında derlenerek sunulmuştur.

Abstract

Of 366 consecutive patients who underwent isolated aorta-coronary bypass grafting in August 1994- December 1997, 23 (6,2 %) patients experienced sternal wound complications. Five (22%) patients with wound complication died of multisystem failure. Patients, grouped according to conduits received, experienced these wound complication rates: vein grafts only, 4 patient (18%), one internal thoracic artery grafts 17 patient (74%), and bilateral internal thoracic artery grafts 2 patient (8%) .
