Abstract

Surviving by maintaining the rights of the Lausanne Treaty in Western Thrace withinthe boundaries of Greece, The Muslims are continuing their culture and religiouspractices. Hymns are also included in the music and literature, which are elementsof these beliefs and cultural traditions. Islam in Anatolia is considered as " Sunni"tradition and "Alevi- Bektashi" tradition, which live in the same garden side by sidein two different colors like white and red roses. The "hymn"s in Turkish music andliterature are shared jointly by both sides and they are performed with the samehymn tunes in both sides as we observed. In particular, the hymn samples of YunusEmre poetry are forefront at both side. In this article some examples of hymns of theTurkish Muslim community living in Western Thrace will be presented we havecompiled.
