Özet

Bu çalışmada, uzun dönemdeki modifiye grid laser tedavisinin görme keskinliği sonuçları hastalığın doğal seyri ile karşılaştırılarak nonproliferatif diabetik retinopati ve difiiz makula ödemi olan 31 hastanın 37 gözünde incelendi.Üç yıllık takip sonuçlarında birinci ve ikinci yılda tedavi edilen gözlerin görme keskinliğinin artması veya aynı kalması ile tedavi edilmeyen gözlerin görme keskinliği artışı veya aynı kalması karşılaştırıldığında istatistik! olarak anlamlı fark varken, üçüncü yıl sonundaki fark anlamlı bulunmadı. Sonuç olarak, modifiye grid patern fotokoagülasyonun özellikle ilk 2 yılda görme keskinliğinin korunması ve artmasını sağladığı, ancak bu etkinin 3 yıl gibi uzun dönemde azaldığı belirlendi.

Abstract

Thirty-seven eyes of thirty-one patients with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy and diffuse macular edema were included in a randomized clinical study to determine the long-term visual results of modified grid laser photocoagulation compared with the natural course of the disease. At the end of the three annual following visits there were more eyes which improved or maintained the initial visual acuity in the treatment group. Statistical analysis of the data showed that only at the end of the first and the second year was there a significant statistical difference between the two groups. At the end of the third year no statistically significant difference was found.These results show that in assessing visual outcome, modified grid laser photocoagulation is an effective modality in maintaining or improving vissual acuity in eyes with diffuse diabetic macular edema, especially during the first 2 years but the effect decreased for the long term management.
