Some geophytes identified around the Lenkoran and Lerik (Azerbaijan) region

Özet

Bu calismamizin temel amaci Lenkeran ve Lerik illerinde yetisen geofitlerin taksonomik yapisi, floristik ve cografi analizi, onlardan perspektif turlerin Merkez Botanik Bahcesine introduksiyonu ve rasyonel kullanimini arastirmaktir. Ornek toplama calismalari iki vejetasyon donemi boyunca ve aylik periotlarla 2004-2007 yillarinda yapilmistir ve arastirma sonucu, ilk kez 30 familyaya ait 65 cins ve 163 turun yaygin oldugu saptanmistir. Bu geofitleri 68 turu soganli, 61 tuberli, 28 rizomlu ve 6 kormuslu olarak gruplarda toplayabiliriz. Onlardan 18 tur Kafkasya, 17 tur ise Azerbaycan endemik bitkileridir. Tespit edilen geofit turlerin14 tanesi Akdeniz elementi, 29 tanesi Iran-Turan ve 21 tanesi Hirkan elementidir. Lenkeran ve Lerik illeri cevresinde yayilis gosteren geofit bitkilerin tehlike kategorilerine gore dagilimi belirlenmistir: 2 tur CR, 11 tur EN ve 20 tur VU. Onlarin korunmasi, bakim ve onarimi icin oneriler sunulmustur.

Abstract

The basic purpose of the submitted work was studying the taxonomical structure, the floristic and phytogeographical analysis of the Lenkoran-Lerik region geophytes, introduction of perspective species to the Central Botanical Garden and their rational uses. Plant collections were carried out within 2004 trough 2007 and during the two periods and as a result of researches for the first time the distribution of 163 species of geophytes, belonging to 30 families and 65 genera were found. Geophytes, meeting in region, are grouped as follows: 68 bulbous species, 61 tuber roots, 28 rhizomes and 6 corms. Among them 18 species are Caucasian and 17 are Azerbaijan endemic plants, with 14 geophyte species of the Mediterranean element, 29 species of Iranio-Turanian and 21 species of Hirkan elements. It has been found that 2 species are critically endangered (CR), 11 species are endangered (EN) and 20 species are vulnerable (VU), also actions for their protection and restoration are offered.
