The Present Status of Agricultural Enterprises in Turkey in the Process of Adaptation to European Union

Özet

Türkiye’nin, AB’ye üyelik için başlanan müzakere sürecinde yapısı nedeniyle en zor geçmesi beklenen konuların başında tarım ile ilgili olanlar gelmektedir. Çünkü, işleyiş mekanizmaları, kurumsal yapı ve ekonomideki ağırlık açısından AB tarım sektörü ile Türkiye tarım sektörü son derece farklıdır. Buna ilaveten Türkiye’de tarım sektörünün, bölgeler arasında da çok ciddi temel farlılık göstermesi, işi daha da zorlaştırmaktadır. Bu nedenle, üyelik sürecinde tarım sektörüne yönelik yapılacak iyileştirme çalışmaları, her bölgenin ve hatta alt bölgelerin özelliklerine uygun ve sürdürülebilir olmalıdır. Söz konusu iyileştirme çalışmalarının temel referansı tarımsal işletmeler olmalıdır.

Abstract

In the process of discussion over Turkey’s full membership to European Union, one of the most difficult sectors facing barriers, because of its structure is likely agriculture sector. Due to functional mechanisms, institutional structure and its share in the economy, agriculture sectors in Europe and Turkey have shown extreme diversity. In addition, the fact that the agriculture sector has differences among the regions in Turkey makes it much more difficult. Therefore, in the process of full membership, the improvement attempts should be appropriate for characteristics of each region or sub-regions. The main reference of these improvement attempts should be based on agricultural enterprises.
