Özet

Bu çalışmada 2005-2018 dönemi verileri kullanılarak Türkiye’de gözlemlenen işsizliğin yapısal kaynakları araştırılmaktadır. Bu amaçla verimlilik, emek arzı ve emek talebi ile reel ücret şoklarının işsizlik üzerindeki uzun dönemli etkileri, Yapısal Vektör Hata Düzeltme modeli (SVECM) ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, verimlilik ve emek talebindeki artışlar uzun dönemde işsizlik oranını azaltırken, emek arzı şokları işsizliği artırma yönünde kalıcı etkiler ortaya koymaktadır. Sonuç olarak Türkiye’de yaşanan işsizliğin uzun dönemde emek arzı ve emek talebi ile teknoloji şokları tarafından önemli şekilde etkilendiği ifade edilebilir.

Abstract

In this study, structural sources of unemployment observed in Turkey are investigated using data in the period 2005-2018. For this purpose, the long run effects of productivity, labor supply, labor demand, and real wages change on unemployment were analyzed with Structural Vector Error Correction model (SVECM). According to the result of the study, while the rises in productivity and labor demand decline the unemployment rate in the long run, labor supply shocks have a persistent impact on the increase in unemployment. As a result, the unemployment in Turkey is importantly affected by labor supply and labor demand and technology shocks can state.
