INTEGRATED REPORTING EVOLUTION PROCESS AND STATUS DETECTION – THE SAMPLE OF ISTANBUL STOCK EXCHANGE

Özet

İşletmeler çevresel, sosyal ve yönetimsel performans bilgilerini ilgili gruplara sürdürülebilir raporlar ile sunabilmektedir. Ancak bu raporlar işletmelerin çevresel, sosyal ve yönetim faaliyetleri ile finansal performanslarını ve stratejilerini birleştirmekte yetersiz kalmaktadır. Bu sebeple işletmelerin finansal ve finansal olmayan performansının açıklandığı ve gösterildiği Entegre Raporlama kavramı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, BIST Sürdürülebilirlik Endeksinde yer alan işletmeler açısından Entegre Raporlama uygulamalarına ait durum tespitinin yapılması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda BIST Sürdürülebilirlik Endeksi içerinde yer alan 29 işletmeye anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. İşletmelerin Entegre Raporlama ile ilgili Dünya genelinde gerçekleştirilen gelişmeleri takip ettikleri ve Entegre Raporlama uygulamasının kendileri için sağlayacağı faydaların farkında oldukları sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract

Businesses can present their environmental, social and managerial performance information to the relevant groups with sustainable reports. However, these reports are insufficient to combine the environmental, social and management activities of enterprises with their financial performance and strategies. This leads to the concept of Integrated Reporting, where financial and non-financial performance of businesses is explained and shown. In this study, it is aimed to determine the status of Integrated Reporting applications in terms of the enterprises in BIST Sustainability Index. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to 29 enterprises within BIST Sustainability Index. Businesses have come to the conclusion that they are following developments around the world on Integrated Reporting and are aware of the benefits that the Integrated Reporting application will provide for them.
