Özet
AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada doku genişletici kullanımı ile kısa sürede sıçan siyatik sinir uzatılmasının ve gerilmesinin sinir rejenerasyon potansiyeli üzerindeki histolojik etkisinin ortaya konması amaçlandı.YÖNTEM: Cerrahi yöntemle siyatik sinirleri altına doku genişletici yerleştirilmiş 30 sıçanın 15 tanesinde doku genişletici belli bir süre içerisinde şişirilip indirildi. Diğer 15 tanesinde doku genişletici şişirilmedi ve kontrol grubu olarak kullanıldı, 1 haftanın sonunda siyatik sinirler çıkartılarak histolojik yönden incelendi. BULGULAR: Schwann hücrelerindeki proliferasyon, endonöriyumdaki fibrozis ve ince miyelin kılıfına sahip küçük çaplı akson gruplarının varlığı gözlendi. SONUÇ: Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda uzatılma ve gerilmenin periferik sinir rejenerasyonunu arttırdığı görüldü.
Abstract
PURPOSE: In the present study histologic effects of elongation and stretching of rat sciatic nerve by using a tissue expander were examined in terms of the potential of nerve regeneration. METHODS: By using surgical methods tissue expander, were placed beneath the sciatic nerve of 30 rats. In 15 of the rats the expanders were inflated and deflated for a certain period of time. Expanders in the other 15 were not inflated and used as control group. After 7 days all sciatic nerves were removed for histologic evaluation. RESULTS: Proliferation of Schwann cells, endoneurial fibrosis and the existence of ax on groups with small diameters were seen. CONCLUSION: The results demonstrated that elongation and stretching of the peripheral nerve elicits an enhanced regeneration response in the peripheral nerve.
