William Edward Gallie, Kanadaʼnın en önemli genel cerrahı olarak kabul edilir. Özellikle cerrahi branşının gelişiminde ülkesinde çok önemli katkıları olmuştur. Bununla birlikte yayınları genellikle ortopedi alanındadır. Kemik füzyonu ve servikal fiksasyon konusunda omurga cerrahisini yakından etkileyen çalışmaları olmuştur.
Abstract
William Edward Gallie most famous general surgeon of the Canada. The origin and development of the Division of General Surgery is intimately involved with the life of Dr. Gallie. His contributions of the surgical knowledge are mostly in the field of the orthopaedic surgery. He is one of the pioneer surgeon in the history of bone fusion and cervical fixation technique.
