Alfred Washington Adson, beyin cerrahisi alanına bir çok katkısı olmuş ve bu konuda öncül cerrahlardan birisidir. Kendisi daha çok torasik çıkış sendromu ile ilgili çalışmalarıyla tanınır. Bununla birlikte birçok cerrahi el aletini de tasarlamıştır. Torasik çıkış sendromuna skalenus antikus kasının katkısını ve sendromun tedavisinde anterior cerrahi yaklaşımı ilk tanımlayan kişidir
Abstract
Alfred Washington Adson is very famous surgeon who made many contributions to the development of neurosurgery and was considered to be one of the leaders in the field. Hes is well known with the descriptions on thoracic outlet syndrome and surgical intruments as well. Adson was the first to approach the area from the front and to emphasize the contribution of the scalenus anticus tendon to the thoracic outlet syndrome.
