Akdeniz Turizm Destinasyonlarının Rekabet Gücü Açısından TOPSIS ve VIKOR Yöntemleri ile Karşılaştırılması

Özet
Bu çalışmada amaç Akdeniz havzasında bulunan turizm destinasyonlarının rekabet edilebilirlik düzeyini incelemektir. Türkiye’nin en yakın rakip pazarını oluşturan Akdeniz turizm destinasyonlarının rekabet güçlerinin ortaya konulması pazardaki konumunun belirlenmesi ve turizm planlamaları açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle 16 Akdeniz ülkesinin turizm rekabet güçleri ile ilgili 12 değerlendirme kriteri belirlenerek değerlendirme ve sıralama yapılmıştır. Çalışmada çok kriterli karar verme yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Rekabet gücünün belirlenmesi sürecinde, kriterlerin ağırlıkları AHS yöntemi ile hesaplanmıştır. Bu ağırlıklar TOPSIS ve VIKOR yöntemlerinde kullanılmış ve bu iki yöntemin sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır. Dünya Ekonomik Forumu’nun Seyahat ve Turizm Rekabet Endeksi’nden oluşan ikincil veriler analize dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, Türkiye’nin rekabet gücünün Akdeniz ülkeleri içinde orta seviyede olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca Akdeniz havzasında bulunan Avrupa destinasyonu ve Kuzey Afrika destinasyonlarının rekabet gücü açısından farklılık gösterdiği de tespit edilmiştir.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the competitiveness levels of Mediterranean destinations. Reveal the forming of competitive market forces is important for determine the position in the Mediterranean tourism destinations competitive market and plan future of tourism. For this purpose, we performed an evaluation and ranking of the 16 Mediterranean countries regarding the 12 evaluation criteria connected to their tourism competitiveness. In this study multi- criteria decision making methods were used. In the process of determining the competitiveness, the weights of the criteria were calculated by AHP method. These weights are used in TOPSIS and VIKOR methods and results of these two methods are compared. Secondary data, comprised of the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index, were included in data analysis. Results show that Turkey’s competitiveness level is medium level in Mediterranean countries. In addition it is determined that that European and North African destinations differ in terms of competitiveness.
