Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop an attitude scale to determine the attitudes of prospective teachers towards professional development. The test form of the scale was administered to 320 teachers who were studying at different departments at Gazi University Faculty of Education. Of the participants 240 were female and 80 were male. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were applied for construct validity via the data set obtained from the implementation. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, it was found that the scale consisted of three sub-scales. The Kaiser-Meyer Olkin (KMO) coefficient was found as 0.91 and the Bartlett test result (Chi- Square 3613,58; p <.001) was found significant. The total variance explanation ratio of the three factors was 48.75%.Reliability was estimated by Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient, which is the internal consistency coefficient. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient was calculated as .94 for the overall scale. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, it was determined that the compliance values of the model are within the acceptable limits. In the light of these findings, it is decided that the attitude scale for professional development is a measurement tool with measurement reliability.
