Abstract
Aim: Transmission of Hepatitis B and C from person- to-person is known to be more in collective living places. To research the seroprevalance of Hepatitis B and C in police vocational high school students and compare the results with other studies was aimed in this study. Method: HBsAg and anti-HCV tests were examined with “Chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay” CMIA in the serums of students admitted to outpatient clinic of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology in Yozgat region. Results: Total 36 6.75% of the 533 students were female and 497 93.24% were male and the mean age was 20.38 years. HBsAg was positive in 5 0.93% students. anti-HCV positivity was not detected in any student. Conclusions: In our study it was observed that, hepatitis B seroprevalance was lower than the mean of our country and other study results made previously in similar populations.
