Sigara içiminin ovulasyon yardımcı üreme tekniklerinde kullanılan ovulasyon indüksiyonu üzerine olan etkisi 74 sigara içen ve 56 sigara içmeyen IVF siklusu da araştırıldı, infertilite sebebi her hasta için kesin kriterlerle ovulatuar normal siklusları olan hastalarda tubal faktör olarak belirlendi. Stimulasyon siklusu içerisinde maksimum estradiol seviyeleri, kullanılan gonadotropin ampulü sayıları elde edilen oosit sayıları, gelişen embriyo sayıları her iki grupta student t testi ile değerlendirildi ve her iki grup için anlamlı istatistiksel farklılık saptanılmadı (P>0.05).
Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of smoking on ovulation induction for assisted reproductive techniques. STUDY DESIGN: The effects of smoking on ovulation induction for assisted reproductive techniques. were studied retrospectively in 74 smokers and 56 non smokers. Patients were ovulatory with normal cycles and the reason for infertility was strictly tubal factor. Peak serum estradiol levels, number of gonadotrophins used, number of oocytes retrieved and number of embryos cleaved were compared in two groups. RESULTS: There were no significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Smoking has no significant effect on the outcome IVF procedure.
