A numerical approach to the pseudo-projections on the example of Franz Mayr projection

Özet

Bu makalede Franz Mayr'ın projeksiyonu ayrıntılı bir biçimde incelenmiş ve projeksiyon denklemlerinin analitik ifadeleri elde edilmiştir. Franz Mayr tarafından ortaya atılan alan koruyan modifiye edilmiş silindirik projeksiyonun dik koordinatlarının hesabı bir eliptik integralin çözümüne dayanmaktadır. Franz Mayr bu integralin çözümü için Legendre tablolarından aldığı E ve F eliptik fonksiyon değerlerini kullanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada tablo değerlerinden enterpolasyon yerine projeksiyonu ifade eden genel eşitliklerle analitik çözüm verilmiştir. Ayrıca gerçek anlamda olmayan bazı projeksiyonlarda, projeksiyon koordinatlarından coğrafi koordinatların elde edilmesindeki güçlükleri çözmek amacı ile uygulanabilecek genel bir iterasyon yöntemi verilmiştir.

Abstract

In this article, the modified cylindrical projection of Franz Mayr studied in detail and the analytical expressions of the projection equations are derived. The computation of the plane coordinates of this projection depends on the solution of an elliptical integral. Franz Mayr used The Legendre Tables for the E and F elliptical function values. In this study an analytical solution is presented instead of interpolation between the table values. At the end a general iteration algorithm is given, which can be used for deriving the geographical coordinates from the projection coordinates for some pseudo-projections.
