Özet
Belediyeler yerel nitelikteki kamusal hizmetlerin sunumunda en önemli role sahip kuruluşlardır. Yerel yönetim kuruluşları arasında Büyükşehir belediyeleri giderek artan bir öneme sahiptir. Birbirinden farklı ölçeklerde oluşturulan Büyükşehir Belediyeleri nedeniyle aralarında homojenlik söz konusu değildir. Çalışmanın amacı; toplu taşıma, su- kanalizasyon ve kolluk – esenlik gibi üç temel yerel hizmetin sunumunda ülkemizdeki BŞB’nin göreli etkinliklerini Veri Zarflama Analizi yöntemiyle belirlemektir.
Abstract
Municipalities have an important role in the provision of local public services. Especially the importance of metropolitan municipalities has been increasing among local governments. Due to the differences in their scale, there is no homogeneity among metropolitan municipalities. Our study tries to determine relative efficiency of metropolitan municipalities in Turkey through data envelopment analysis applied in three main local services, namely mass transportation, water- sewerage and security.
