Abstract

Artificial islands, as was once seen as an utopian gibberish, have become one of the most important innovative miracle of the twentieth century. They provide variety of functions, including habitation, research, communication etc. As the dawn of the 21st century passed, the roles that have been played by artificial islands, or structures, as it would appear, are enhanced by the requirements of the modern life. Technology, which has overcome the impossibilities of the seas, because of their very nature, still provides and will, no doubtedly, continue to provide their evolution.
