Abstract
Menteşe Islands which is located in southwest cost off Turkey in the Aegean Sea,has great importance as outpost in defending Anatolia against threats that may come fromthe west and the south. Throughout the history sovereignty of these islands has always beenhaving a strategic priority for the security of Anatolia. These islands, islets and rocks, whichhave sprinkled in a manner very close case each spread out in front of the main land of Turkey,after spending 400 years of Turkish domination, occupied by the Italians and then after theSecond World War have passed into the hands of Greece. In this context, the aforementionedislands situation in the Second World War in the output process from Turkish domination isemerging as an important milestone.
