Özet
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kurucusu Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 10 Kasım 1938 tarihinde hayatını kaybetmiştir. Yaşanan bu kayıp Türkiye’yi çok derinden etkilediği gibi dünyayı da etkileyen bir hadise olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Atatürk’ün ölümünün Urfa ilinde nasıl bir etki yarattığını ortaya koymak için arşiv belgelerinden ve yerel basından yararlanılmıştır. Ayrıca dönemin canlı tanıklarının anlattıkları ile çalışma desteklenmiştir. Büyük acının Urfa halkı üzerinde yarattığı etki ve yapılan cenaze töreni belgeler ışığında ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
Abstract
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, died on the 10th of November, 1938. This loss had deeply affected not only Turkey, but also the entire world. This study reveals the effect of Atatürk’s death on the province of Urfa by using archive documents and the local press. Besides, the study is supported by stories told by the witnesses of that era. The effect of the great sorrow on the people of Urfa and the funeral service are tried to be presented in the light of documents.
