ENERJİ REBOUND ETKİSİNİN PANEL VERİ YÖNTEMİ İLE ANALİZİ

Özet
Rebound etkisi, artan enerji verimliliğine bağlı olarak, enerji fiyatlarındaki düşüşle ortaya çıkan iktisadi kazançların daha fazla enerji tüketimine yol açmasıdır. Bu çalışmada enerji verimliliğinin enerji tüketimi üzerindeki etkisinin rebound etkisine yol açıp açmadığının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda seçilmiş Avrupa ülkeleri ve Türkiye için 2000-2015 dönemi itibariyle panel eş-bütünleşme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucu, enerji verimliliğindeki artışın enerji tüketiminde azalmaya yol açtığını göstermiştir. Dolayısıyla ele alınan ülkeler ve dönem itibariyle enerji rebound etkisi geçerli değildir.
Abstract
The rebound effect is that the economic gains resulting from the decline in energy prices depending on the increased energy efficiency lead to more energy consumption. In this study, it is aimed to show whether energy efficiency on energy consumption has a rebound effect. In this direction, the panel cointegration method has been used in the period of 2000-2015 for selected European countries and Turkey. The result of this study shows that the increase in energy efficiency leads to a decrease in energy consumption. Therefore, the energy rebound effect is not valid for the countries and period covered
