Özet
İzmir’in işgali ve Yunan katliamı Anadolu’da duyulduğunda büyük bir heyecan ve tepki yarattı. İzmir’in doğusunda Küçük Menderes havzasında yer alan Ödemiş’te İzmir’in işgali haberi ulaştığında büyük bir tepki oluştu. İzmir işgal edildiyse sıra Ödemiş’e de gelecekti. Zira bölge Aydın’a doğru yapılacak genişlemenin güvenliğini sağlayacağı gibi İtalyan ilerlemesine de büyük ölçüde engel olabilecek konuma sahipti. 15 Mayıs 1919’da İzmir’e çıkan Yunan ordusu, İzmir’i işgal ettiği gün sergilediği karanlık tabloyla Aydın vilayetinde büyük tedirginliğe neden olmuştur. Bu tedirginlik Ödemiş’te, direniş seslerinin yükselmesine yol açmıştır. Mütareke yıllarında eşkıyalığın yarattığı asayiş ve güvenlik sorunlarıyla boğuşan Ödemiş halkı Yunan işgalini peş peşe gerçekleştirdikleri toplantılarda oluşturdukları Gizli Cemiyet, Ödemiş Redd-i İlhak Heyeti ile yurtseverlerin evlerinde, belediye’de, Ticaret odasında yapılan canlı tartışmalarla, çevre ile kurulan temaslar aracılığıyla durdurmaya çalışmıştır. Bu çerçevede atılan en önemli adım kuşkusuz silahlı direniş düşüncesiyle birlikte Hacı İlyas köyünde verilen mücadeledir. Ödemiş’in Hacı İlyas köyü sırtlarında Yunan ordusuna karşı Ali Orhan (İlk kurşun) komutasında gönüllü köylü, efe ve birkaç yedek subaydan oluşan Yiğit Ordusu adıyla ilk Kuva-yı Milliye grubunun direnişi Milli Mücadele’nin ilk kitlesel direnişi olmuştur. Batı Anadolu’da Yunan işgaline karşı silahlı etkin ve tamamen sivillerin katılımıyla oluşan ilk örgütlü yerel direniş Ödemiş’te gerçekleşmiştir. Söz konusu direniş bu açıdan önemlidir. Askeri depoda bulunan silahlar halka dağıtılmış ve bir halk savaşı olarak Yunan ordusuna karşı direniş başlatılmıştır. Ödemiş direnişi, o günün zor iletişim koşullarına karşın hızlı bir şekilde tüm Anadolu’ya yayılmış ve işgale karşı direnmenin moral açıdan da önemli bir sembolü olmuştur.
Abstract
When the occupation of Smyrna and the Greek massacre were heard in Anatolia, it caused a great excitement and reaction. There was a great reaction when the news of the invasion of Smyrna in Ödemiş, located in the back of Smyrna. If Smyrna was occupied, it would also come to Ödemiş. Because the region will ensure the security of the expansion will be made to the extent of the Italian progress was able to prevent a large extent. On May 15, 1919, the Greek army came to Izmir. The day he occupied Smyrna, he caused a great uneasiness in Aydın province with his dark painting. This uneasiness led to the rise of resistance sounds in Ödemiş. During the truce years, Ödemiş people struggling with the security and security problems created by banditry tried to stop them by the Secret Society, Ödemiş Redd-i İlhak Delegation which they formed in the meetings which they carried out in succession, through live discussions in the houses of the patriots, in the municipality, in the chamber of commerce and with the contacts established with the environment. The most important step taken in this framework is undoubtedly the struggle given in Hacı İlyas village with the idea of armed resistance. The Odemısh resistance has spread rapidly throughout Anatolia, despite the difficult communication conditions of that day, and has become an important symbol of resistance against the occupation.
