Abstract

Methods: Branchial cleft cyst cases were re-evaluated from the pathology archives in between 2006-2016. Age, sex, site, complaint of the patients and histopathologic features were noted. Results: Out of sixty-two cases, 32 were composed of male population and the mean age was 32.8. The vast majority of the cases was admitted to the hospital with a complaint of lateral palpable neck mass (95%). Right site of the neck (57.5%) was the predominant location. While in one of two cases in the series showed papillary thyroid carcinoma and the other one had basal cell adenoma in the background of branchial cleft cyst. Conclusions: Accordingly to the literature 1-3 decades frequency, our series showed a predominancy in 2. and 3. decades. However; there was a female predominancy in the literature, this group showed a mild male majority (30 female and 32 male).
