Abstract

Contract for lifelong support is a contract which ensures persons who arenot able to fulfil their needs for various reasons, are in need of care and supervision, do not have relatives to get involved personally but have certainassets and especially elderly to be looked after in exchange for onerous untilthey die. The contract is one of the contracts regulated by the Turkish Code ofObligations. The importance and application of this contract which is widelyimplemented in our society is increasing with the growing number of institutionsthat undertake the function of care and supervision. In our study, the rights ofcare creditor to provide assurance and the legal nature, types, parties and formof this contract are examined.
