Abstract

The political orientation of the working class in Turkey has weakened after being implemented neoliberal policies. The aim of this article is, to explain how has been weakened the political consciousness of the working class in Turkey after 1980. It is argued that in the study, workers have not internalized the ideology of the hegemon class and that the consciousness of the workers was shaped by economic, political, cultural dynamics in struggle. In this context, considering the superstructure elements, the effect of the substructure elements on consciousness formation is tried to be shown. For this, neoliberalism effects on both the working class organizations and therotical field are emphasized.
