Sofyalı Bâlî Efendî’nin Kazâ ve Kaderin Sırlarıyla İlgili İsmi Meçhul Risâlesi: Yemenli Bir Yahudinin Kader Sorusuna Vahdet-i Vücûd Bakış Açısından Cevap

Bali Efendi the Sophian’s Treatise on the Secrets of Decree and Predestina-tion: A Jewish Yemenite’s Response to the Question of Predestination from the Perspective of Wahdat al-Wujud

Hakk’ın mutlak varlık olarak ele alınması ve a’yân-ı sâbite, vahdet-i vücûd fikrini nazariyeye dönüştüren iki temel ilkedir. Osmanlı döneminde İbnü’l-Arabî’nin (ö. 638/1240) Fusûsu’l-Hikem’i üzerine şerh yazan sûfîler, kader mese-lesini bu iki ilkeden hareketle ele almışlardır. Bu makalede Sofyalı Bâlî Efendi-nin (ö. 960/1553) Risâletü’l-Kazâ ve‘l-Kader’i ve Şerhu Hadîsi Küntü Kenzen dı-şında kader meselesinde aynı perspektiften yazılmış yeni bir “İsmi Meçhul Risa-le”si daha tespit edilmiş ve bu risalenin ona nispeti tartışılmıştır. Bâlî Efendi, yeni tespit edilen risalesinde Yemenli bir Yahudinin kader meselesinde ortaya attığı ikilemleri/çıkmazları mutlak varlık ve bilhassa ikinci ilke olan a’yân-ı sâbi-te’nin istidad kavramıyla ilişkisinden hareketle cevaplamaya çalışmıştır. Bâlî Efendinin bu risalesi, sırr-ı kader bağlamında işlendiğinden diğer risalelerine gö-re daha net bilgiler içermekte ve zikredilen iki ilkenin kader meselesine yansı-yan taraflarını net bir şekilde ortaya koymaktadır. Makalede Yahudinin sorula-rına verilen cevapların içeriğinden hareketle vahdet-i vücûd nazariyesinin kader meselesine diğer bir ifadeyle insanın irade hürriyetine bakışının ne olduğu orta-ya konmuştur.

Abstract

The two foundational doctrines of wujud Allah al-mutlaq (God’s ab-solute existence) and the concept of al-a‘yan al-thabita (permanent entities) are what transformed the idea of wahdat al-wujud into a theory. During the Otto-man period, Sufis who had written commentaries on Ibn al-Arabi’s (d. 638/1240) Fusus al-Hikam dealt with the issue of predestination by referring to these two doctrines. As for Bali Efendi the Sophian (d. 960/1553), what distin-guishes him from other commentators while having written from the same per-spective as they were that he penned separate treatises on the issue of predesti-nation in great detail. In this study, alongside the Risalat al-Qada’ wa al-Qadar and Sharh Hadith Kuntu Kanz, we have identified a new treatise on the issue of predestination by Bali Efendi’s Treatise on the Secrets of Decree (al-Qada’) and Predestination (al-Qadar), and discussed its ascription to him. In this newly identified treatise of his, Bali Efendi attempts to respond to the dilem-mas/predicaments brought forward by a Yemenite Jew on the issue of predesti-nation by referring to wujud Allah al-mutlaq and, in particular, to isti‘dad which is a concept of the second doctrine of al-a‘yan al-thabita. In this study, we have presented based on the content of the answers given in response to the ques-tions posed by the Yemenite Jew the issue of predestination or, put differently, the view of individual free-will from the perspective of wahdat al-wujud.
