FERİDUN AHMED BEY’İN NÜSHET-İ ESRÂR’INDA BUDİN BEYLERBEYİ SOKOLLU MUSTAFA PAŞA

Özet
Budin’de Osmanlı idaresi 1541’de başlamış ve 1686 yılına kadar devam etmişti. Budin’in ilk beylerbeyi aslen Macar olan Uzun Süleyman Paşa’dır. Son Budin beylerbeyi ise Abdurrahman Abdi Paşa (ö. 1686)’dır. Süleyman Paşa ile Abdi Paşa arasında yetmiş üç kişi daha Budin beylerbeyliği yaptı. Bunlar arasında, hem en uzun süre görev yapması açısından ve hem de muazzam inşâ faaliyeti açısından Sokollu Mustafa Paşa (ö. 1578) önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Sadrazam Sokollu Mehmed Paşa (1564-1579)’nın amcasının oğlu olan Mustafa Paşa, 1566 ile 1578 yılları arasında Budin beylerbeyliği görevinde bulundu. Sadrazam’ın himayesinde olan diğer bir kişi ise Sigetvar Seferi (1566) sırasında Sokollu Mehmed Paşa’nın sır kâtipliğini yapan Feridun Ahmed Bey (ö. 1583)’dir. Feridun Bey’in Nüzhet-i Esrârü’l-Ahyâr der-Ahbâr-ı Sefer-i Sigetvar adlı eseri, Muhteşem Süleyman (hük. 1520-1566)’ın son seferini anlatan bir tarih eseridir. Bununla birlikte, bu eser II. Selim (hük. 1566-1574)’in saltanatının ilk iki yılındaki olaylar hakkında önemli bilgiler içermektedir. Feridun Bey, asıl gâyesi Sokollu Mehmed Paşa’nın ismini yüceltmek olan Nüzhet-i Esrâr’ı 1 Ocak 1569 tarihinde tamamlamıştı. Nüzhet’te yer alan bölümlerden birisi de, Budin beylerbeyi olarak Sokollu Mustafa Paşa’nın Habsburg İmparatoru II. Maximilian (hük. 1564-1576) ile yazışmalarını içermektedir. Feridun Bey’e göre, Mustafa Paşa bundan önceki ve sonraki Budin beylerbeyleri içinde en iyi olanıdır. Nüzhet’te Sokollu Mustafa Paşa’nın ismi de esrarengiz bir şekilde yüceltilmektedir.
Abstract
The Ottoman rule in Budin began in the year 1541 and lasted until 1686. The first governor (beylerbeyi) of Budin was Uzun Süleyman Paşa, who was of Hungarian origin. The last one was Abdurrahman Abdi Paşa (d. 1686). Between Süleyman Paşa and Abdi Paşa, there were seventy three persons who served as the governor of Budin province. Among them was Sokollu Mustafa Paşa (d. 1578), who occupies a significant place in terms of not only for his longest tenure but also for his immense building activity in the province. Mustafa Paşa, who was the cousin of the Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmed Paşa (1564- 1579), served as the governor of Budin province between the years 1566 and 1578. Another protégé of the Grand Vizier was Feridun Ahmed Bey (d. 1583), who was the secretary of Sokollu Mehmed Paşa during the Szigetvár campaign (1566). Feridun Bey’s work entitled Nüzhet-i Esrârü’l-Ahyâr der-Ahbâr-ı Sefer-i Sigetvar (the Pleasure Ride of the Secrets of Outstanding Men from the News of the Szigetvár Campaign) of is a chronicle about Süleyman the Magnificent (1520- 1566)’s last campaign. Nevertheless, this work also contains important details about the first two years of Selim II (1566-1574)’s reign. Feridun Bey completed Nüzhet-i Esrâr, the main aim of which is to exalt the name of Sokollu Mehmed Paşa, on 1 January 1569. One of the section of the Nüzhet is related to the correspondence of Sokollu Mustafa Paşa as the governor of Buda with the Habsburg emperor Maximilian II (r. 1564- 1576). According to Feridun Bey, Mustafa Paşa was the best governor of Budin ever seen. The name of Sokollu Mustafa Pasha is also exalted in the Nüzhet in a mysterious way
