Abstract

The Ottoman-Venice conflicts which started in 1645 ended with a treaty in 1669. During the sea wars between the Ottoman Empire and Venice, another area that was a battlefield for bothsides draw an attention: Bosnia and its regions. Although the Ottoman army was successful on the sea wars, they defeated partially on the land and the both power came to an agreement after the war to determine their borders again. At this point both sides’ border officials who were elected and sent to determine the frontiers, and their reports and also documents which were sent to their capitals include quite important informations. Battista Nani who was a border official by Venice and his notes revealed how the Ottoman and Venice’s attitudes were to establish their borders explicitly. The borders which determined with many difficulties had a significant feature because both sides put what they had. These border negotiations had also another importance because of the fact that they confirmed borderlines which determined before.
