Bu makalede köpeklerde yaşayan filarialnematodların morfoloji, biyoloji, yayılış ve tedavileri hakkında kısa bilgiler verilmektedir.
Abstract
The adult filarial nematodes are found in the body cavities, blood vessels, lymphatics and subcutaneous tissues of the dog. The İmportance of the filariae are strengthened by the existance in almost all part s of the world, the their Iatent progression and being zoonotic. Eight species of filariae are known to live in dogs such as : Dirofilaria immitis, D. repens, Dipetalonema reconditum, D. grassi, D. draunculoides, Brugia malayi, B. pahangi, B. patei. Among these species the presence of D. immitis, D. repens, D. reconditum in Turkey have been recorded by many investigators. D. immitis was found to be 2 .%. 6%, 12.1% (20, 22,24) in various regions, D. repens was found to be 2%, 3% (4, 21) in again various regions. lt was determined that only the microfilariae of Dipetalonema reconditum. Only Dirofilaria repens has been found in humans. In this article, brief informations on morphology, life- cycle, distribution, diagnose and treatment of filarial parasites were given.
