Özet
Sanatsal (resim/tasarım) yarışmalar, genel olarak sosyal içerikli konularda afiş veya resimlerle farkındalık oluşturmak, sanatsal bir ürünü tanıtabilmek veya kullanılmasını teşvik edebilmek için düzenlenen etkinliklerdir. Yarışmaların genel amacı böyle olsa da özellikle resim/tasarım yarışmalarının düzenlendiği hedef kitle üzerinde, eğitsel bir yönünün olup olmadığını öğrenci görüşlerine değerlendirmek bu araştırmanın gerekçesini oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Verilere göre öğrenciler, sanat (resim/tasarım) yarışmalarının sanatın eleman ve ilkelerini kullanma ve kavrama konusunda faydalı olduğu, görsel sanatlara karşı duyarlılığı ve buna bağlı olarak ilgiyi arttırdığı, yarışma görüşündedirler. Ayrıca öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğunun yarışmaların yapılmasından yana oldukları sonucuna ulaşmakla birlikte; çok anlamlı bir sonuç olmasa da ankete katılan öğrencilerin bir kısmı, sanat (resim/tasarım) yarışmasını kaybedince üzüldüklerini ve yarışmalara katılma düşüncesinin kendilerini strese soktuğu için bu tarz yarışmaları doğru bulmadıklarını; bir kısmının ise üniversite sınavlarına hazırlanmak zorunda olduklarından sanatsal yarışmalara katılmanın anlamsız olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. etkinlik olduğu belirtilmeli ve öğrenciler bu konuda yeterli düzeyde bilgilendirilmelidirler.
Abstract
Art (painting/design) competitions, in general, are organized in order to the education to introduce a product or to art. Even though the general purpose of such competitions is like this, the justification of this research is to evaluate if there is an educational aspect of them on the target audience. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to evaluate the painting competitions in terms of visual arts education based on the opinions of students. In this research, survey research methods were used. According to the findings artistic competitions are useful for understanding and using of the principles of the art and they increase the interest and sensibility on visual arts, the time spent for painting competitions are pleasant and fun and the preparation of paintings for art competitions is not unnecessary time wasting because it is suitable for its purpose. In addition, the majority of the students are in favor of attending these competitions and some of the students stated that they get sad when they lose the competition and they do not find them true because the thought of attending makes them feel stressed. Also some of them stated that they have to prepare for the university entrance exams and it s meaningless for them to attend these competitions. Visual Arts teachers must adequately inform the students that these competitions are not always done for the prize, but also it is necessary to attend them because they have some missions like creating awareness and understanding the art and the artist.
