Abstract

Objective: Our aim in this study was to find out the possible effects of occiput posterior delivery on babies' neurological development. Moreover we compared occiput posterior delivery with occiput- anterior delivery and tried to find out whether there were differences or what these differences were. Materials and Method: The study was performed on 141 cases in the main group and 199 cases in the control group in the delivery clinic of Zeynep Kamil Maternity and Childcare Research Hospital between the dates of 1.1.1999 and 31.12.2000. We performed Denver II Development Screening Test on the 46 cases in the main group and 20 cases in the control group. Results: Considering APGAR score, meconium presence, need for intensive care, we couldn't find any significant difference between the main group and the control group. On the other hand, considering the presence of episiotomy (p
