Abstract

Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) of the lung which occurs with various forms and numbers of cysts as embryonic differentiation abnormality, is a rare abnormality. In %80-85 of cases, respiratory distress occurs during the neonatal period or before the age of two years due to respiratory infection. Most patients with CCAM can be diagnosed with prenatal ultrasound. Here in we present 33-year-old woman who was evaluated by routine prenatal ultrasound at 18 weeks of gestation and who was found to have large cystic mass area measured 25x30 mm in left fetal thorax with no associated anomalies. We aimed to discuss management principles of this rare abnormality by presenting management and diagnosis of a case which was prenatally diagnosed by ultrasound as CCAM of the lung.
