Abstract

This study comparatively analyzes the evolutionary development of the green transformation field which expresses a mission-oriented social and economic transformation process on a global and national scale. In the study conducted with the bibliometry method the science mapping technique was used. Science mapping is a strategic tool that allows examining the evolution of scientific research areas and determining the current thematic patterns of the research area. Two separate data sets subject to evolutionary analysis were obtained for the 2010-2024 period using WoS and TRDizin data sources. The analysis results show that the green transformation literature has developed with a focus on macroeconomic transformation, digitalization, and financial mechanisms on a global scale while it has been shaped with a focus on European Union climate policies, renewable energy, corporate governance, and innovation on a national scale. In the global literature, the thematic structure is more integrated and the economic and technological dimensions of the transformation exhibit an integrated structure in the policy area. The national literature on the other hand, has a context-sensitive structural character with policy tools, analyses and sectoral applications. In the national literature, it is noteworthy that chemistry and materials science contribute significantly to the green transformation literature as niche areas. Considering the evidence-based policymaking priority in Turkey's green transformation policy documents the research results are expected to support rational decision-making processes.
