The Factors Affecting 5th Grade Students' Attitudes Towards Performance Tasks

İlköğretim 5. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Performans Görevlerine İlişkin Tutumlarını Etkileyen Faktörler

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting 5th grade students’ attitudes towards performance tasks. The sample of the research consists of 421 5th grade students from 10 different schools. Data were analyzed using statistical techniques. The results of the study showed that the significant predictors of students’ attitudes towards performance tasks were the availability of gymnasium in the schools, teachers' assessing performance tasks in collaboration with students, determination of the content of the performance tasks only by teachers, academic achievement of students, students’ taking advantage of different textbooks in performance tasks, students’ making use of computer in performance tasks, teacher gender, determination of the content of the performance tasks by the students, education level of students’ fathers (primary-school-graduate fathers), students’ having 75-100 books at home.

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin performansa dayalı durum belirleme kapsamında kullanılan performans görevlerine ilişkin tutumlarını etkileyen faktörlerin neler olduğunu belirlemektir. Araştırma, 10 ilköğretim okulunun 5. sınıfında okuyan öğrenciler üzerinden yürütülmüştür. Yapılan istatistiksel analizler sonucunda öğrencilerin performans görevlerine ilişkin tutum puanlarını; öğrenim görülen okulda spor salonu olması, performans görevlerinin çoğu zaman öğretmen ve öğrenci tarafından birlikte değerlendirilmesi, performans görevinin konusunun öğretmen tarafından belirlenmesi, akademik başarı, performans görevini yaparken çoğu zaman ders kitabı dışındaki farklı kaynak kitaplardan yararlanılması, performans görevini yaparken bilgisayardan yararlanılmaması, performans görevlerinin konusunun öğrenci tarafından belirlenmesi, öğrencinin babasının ilkokul mezunu olması, öğretmenin cinsiyeti ve öğrencinin evde sahip olduğu kitap sayısı değişkenlerinin yordadığı ortaya koyulmuştur
