Field Training in Postgraduate Family Medicine Education

Abstract

In Turkey, the process beginning with the decision of transition through Family Medicine and spreading country-wide, has brought the reality of enhancing the quality of speciality training down to earth. It is essential to restructure the services in the training areas including the field, in order to do that. We are face to face with a lot of questions to be answered like; how should the education model and areas be, how should the finance be supplied, who should the trainers be, how would the process go on, and how should the prudential projection be. New ideas to expand our horizons and to start debate are needed in order to find the answers of these questions and to find solutions to possible problems. The aim of our paper is to serve this purpose to some extent.

Özet Türkiye’de Aile Hekimliği uygulamasına geçiş kararıyla başlayan ve tüm ülkeye yayılan süreç, geldiğimiz aşamada bizi uzmanlık eğitiminde kalitenin artırılması gerektiği gerçeği ile yüz yüze getirmiştir. Kalitenin artırılması için aile hekimliğinde saha ve diğer eğitim yerlerinin ve hizmetlerinin yeniden yapılandırılması ihtiyacı vardır. Eğitim yerleri ve modeli nasıl olmalı, finansman nasıl sağlanmalı, kimler eğitim vermeli, süreç nasıl işlemeli, ileriye dönük projeksiyon nasıl olmalı ve bunun gibi cevaplanması gereken bir çok soru ile karşılaşmış durumdayız. Yukarıdaki soruların cevap bulabilmesi ve muhtemel problemlere çözüm üretmek için, bu süreçte ufkumuzu genişletecek ve üzerinde tartışma oluşturulacak fikirlere ihtiyaç vardır. Yazımız amacı, bu ihtiyacı bir ölçüde karşılamaktır.
