THE STUDY OF THE PREVALANCE OFPEDICULUS HUMANUS CAPITIS INFESTATION AND THE AFFECTING FACTORS IN “DANİŞMENT ÇİÇEKLİ” PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
At Keçiören, district of Ankara, 710 students of Danişment Çiçekli Primary School was screened forPediculus humanus capitisin November 1999. It was found that 5.2% of students were infested by this parasite.Proportions of infestation were 9.1% in girls and 1.8% in boys. The parasite was found more in students who usedsomeone else’s comb then in students who didn’t. While the proportion of infestation was 30.8% in the students whohave itchy head, it was 2.5% in students who have never complaint of head itching. While the proportion for thestudents who live four or more people in same room was 17.9%, it was 4.7% for the students who live in same roomwith less then 3 persons

Ankara’nın Keçiören İlçesi Danişment Çiçekli İlköğretim Okulu’nda 710 öğrenci 1999 yılı Kasım ayındaPediculus humanus capitis açısından muayene edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin %5.2’sinin anılan parazit ile enfeste olduğubelirlenmiştir. Enfestasyon sıklığı kız öğrencilerde %9.1 erkek öğrencilerde %1.8 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Başkasınıntarağını kullanan öğrencilerde kullanmayanlara göre daha fazla parazit saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerden baş kaşınmasışikayeti olanlarda %30.8 parazit saptanmıştır. Hiç baş kaşınması şikayeti olmayanlarda ise bu orantı %2.5'tir.Yaşadıkları evde aynı odada 4 kişi ve daha fazla yatan öğrencilerin %17.9'unda parazit bulunurken, aynı odada üçve daha az kişi yatanlarda %4.7'dir
