INVESTIGATION OF SATISFACTION LEVELS OF WORKING PERSONNELS OF YOUTH SERVICES AND SPORTS DIRECTORATES

Abstract

In the purpose of this research is to investigate the job satisfaction levels of personnel working in Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorates in Eastern Anatolia Region in terms of some demographic characteristics (gender, age, educational status, job experience and position).In the Research partıcıpated in 71 women and 151 men. Personal Information Form was used during the research to learn about the personal information of participants. Other than that, Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire was used for the determination of job satisfaction levels of the participants. In Research was used as a data collection tool the " Minnesota Questıonnaıre”developed Weiss, Davis, England ve Lofguist (1967) and developed by Baycan (1985) is a validity and reliability study in our country. Due to the reason that the data had not been collected from normal distribution, Mann Whitney U Test was used to analyze whether the job satisfaction levels vary according to the gender or not. All data with age, job experience, position and educational status was analyzed by Kruskall-Wallis H Test. As a result, the following results have been achieved. Male employees were found to have higher satisfaction compared to female employees according to the variable of gender. The employees in the 4050 age group were found to have the highest satisfaction level according to the variable of age and the individuals in the group of 18-28 and over were found to have the lowest satisfaction level. According to educational status, it is determined that undergraduate and graduate employees have the lowest job satisfaction. According to years of service and experience variables, it was observed that those in the 0-4 age range had the lowest job satisfaction and those with the highest age were 51 and above. As a result of the analysis, the general satisfaction level of the employees in the Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorates was found to be at a high level Man has various mental and physical activities to maintain her life. All of these activities are called business. he level of job difficulty is often a factor affecting job satisfaction. Employees have a tendency to see success and to show success and desire to succeed. If a mentally difficult job is achieved by the employee and the environment recognizes that success, the employee will find satisfaction at the highest level. Besides, it is accepted that physical difficulty is not a factor of satisfaction in terms of job satisfaction. Doing things that are too heavy, tiring and weary is not enough to earn the community's appreciation. Working; if they have to do something over their individual traits and qualities, then the hardship and morale will emerge. The scale developed by Weiss, Davis, England and Lofguist (1967) was adapted to Turkish by Baycan (1985) and validity and reliability studies were carried out. The validity and reliability of the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale is high. Baycan (1985) found Cronbach's Alpha value (0.77) as the study he did. The Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale tries to measure individual job satisfaction or dissatisfaction with 20 different job dimensions. The Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale is a five-point Likert-type scale scored between 1 and 5. Scale score is evaluated as 1 point, "I am not satisfied" 2 points, "Undecided" 3 points, "Satisfaction" 4 points and "Very satisfied" 5 points. There are no inverse questions on the scale. The external job satisfaction that the employees of the Youth Services and Sport Provincial Directorate get from their jobs is a moderate satisfaction (3.01). Employees provide a moderate job satisfaction in terms of business environment, such as corporate policy and management, supervisory, managerial, colleagues and subordinates, working conditions, wages. Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürlüklerinde çalışan personelin iş doyum düzeylerinin bazı demografik özellikler (cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim durumu, iş deneyimi ve ünvan ) açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya 71 kadın ve 151 erkek katılmıştır. Araştırmada katılımcıların kişisel bilgilerini öğrenebilmek için kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. İş doyum düzeylerinin belirlenebilmesi için Minnesota İş Doyum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Weiss, Davis, England ve Lofguist (1967) tarafından geliştirilen ölçek Baycan (1985) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanarak geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Veriler normal dağılım göstermediğinden çalışanların iş doyum düzeylerinin cinsiyete göre değişip değişmediği Mann Whitney U Testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Yaş, iş deneyimi, unvan ve eğitim durumlarına ait veriler ise Kruskall Wallis H Testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak aşağıdaki sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Cinsiyet değişkenine göre erkek çalışanlar kadın çalışanlardan daha yüksek doyuma sahiptir. Yaş değişkenine göre en yüksek doyum 40-50 yaş grubundaki çalışanlardayken, en düşük doyum ise 29-39 yaş aralığındaki bireylerde gözlenmiştir. Eğitim durumlarına göre ise lisans ve lisansüstü çalışanların en düşük iş doyuma sahip oldukları saptanmıştır. Hizmet yılı ve deneyim değişkenlerine göre 0-4 yaş aralığındakilerin en düşük, 51 ve yaş üstünde ise en yüksek iş doyuma sahip oldukları gözlenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürlüklerinde çalışanların genel doyum düzeyi yüksek derecede bulunmuştur
