Teachers' Opinions on The Teacher Evaluation System

Abstract
The aim of the research is to determine the teachers’ views on teacher evaluation system. 12 teachers working in Çarşıbaşı district of Trabzon province selected by stratified sampling method and participated in this research, which was designed with case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The research data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. The data obtained were analysed by content analysis. As a result of the research; it was concluded that the teachers participating in the study had generally positive opinions about the teacher evaluation system, but revising the system with a more participatory understanding would be more advantageous for teachers and this would have positive reflections on the quality of education.
Özet
Araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen değerlendirme sistemine yönelik öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemektir. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan durum çalışması ile tasarlanan araştırmaya, Trabzon ili Çarşıbaşı ilçesinde görev yapan ve tabakalı örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 12 öğretmen katılmıştır. Araştırma verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yapılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlerin genel olarak öğretmen değerlendirme sistemine yönelik olumlu görüşlere sahip oldukları, ancak sistemin daha katılımcı bir anlayış ile revize edilmesinin, öğretmenler açısından daha avantajlı olacağı ve bu durumun da eğitim kalitesine olumlu yansımalarının olacağı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
