Abstract
One of the recent developments in the hydrometallurgy, after solvent extraction, ion ex c hangers, metal precipitation etc., is course the teaching by bacteria. Although it is a time consuming process, its economic advantages are considerable. The sulphide ores, stages and various tailings can be subjected to bacterial leaching to recover the metals.
