Mullah ‘Abd al-Rahim Wastanî and his Sharh on the Mullah Ahmad al-Jazeri’s Dīwan

Abstract

Mullah Ahmad Jazeri's Dīwan is one of the masterpieces of classical Kurdish literature and was taught in classical Kurdish madrasas. For this reason, many Kurdish scholars and litterateurs have written many sharhs on Mullah Ahmad Jazeri's Dīwan. One of these sharhs is that of Mullah ‘Abd al-Rahim Wastanî (1894-1956) from the Wastan/Gevaş district of Van. The sharh written by Mullah ‘Abd al-Rahim has remained hidden as a manuscript until today and has not been recognised in the scientific world. Wastanî wrote his book in three languages, Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Turkish, and recorded many notes and dates in it. The subject of this article is to introduce Mullah ‘Abd al-Rahim Wastanî and his sharh on the Mullah Ahmad Jazeri's Dīwan. We hope that this article will contribute to the inclusion and recognition of this sharh in the literature of Classical Kurdish Literature.

Özet

Molla Ahmed-i Cizîrî’nin Divan’ı, klasik Kürt edebiyatının başyapıtlarından biridir ve klasik Kürt medreselerinde okutulmuştur. Bu nedenle birçok Kürt alim ve edip, Molla Ahmed-i Cizîrî’nin Divan’ını şerh etmişlerdir. Bu şerhlerden biri de Van’ın Gevaş ilçesinden olan Molla Abdurrahim-i Vestanî (1894-1956) şerhidir. Molla Abdurrahim-i Vestanî’nin yazmış olduğu şerh bugüne kadar elyazması olarak saklı kalmış ve bilim dünyasında tanınmamıştır. Vestanî kitabını Arapça, Farsça ve Osmanlı Türkçesi olmak üzere üç dilde yazmış ve şerhinde çokça haşiyeler ve çeşitli tarihler kaydetmiştir. Bu yazının konusu Molla Abdurrahim-i Vestanî ve onun Molla Ahmed-i Cizîrî Divan’ına yazmış olduğu şerhin tanıtılmasıdır. Umarız ki bu makaleyle sözkonusu şerhin Klasik Kürt Edebiyatı literatürüne eklenmesine ve tanınmasına katkıda bulunuruz.
