Historical Elements in Tîrêj Poetry

Abstract

Literature is an artistic expression of common emotions and ideas of the society, such as morality and conscience, through art. History is the narrative of the past events in a society. There is a strong correlation between literature and history since they are both humanities. Literature and especially the history of poetry have been used as a tool to keep the social memory alive. One of the leading poets in Kurdish literature, Tîrêj employed several historical themes in his poetry. The present study aimed to discuss the correlation between history and literature and the historical content in Tîrêj's poetry. Thus, it aimed to demonstrate that poetry plays a key role in the vitality of social memory, employs history for this purpose, and Tîrêj constructed his poetry based on this correlation.

Özet

Edebiyat, toplumun ahlak ve vicdan gibi ortak duygu ve düşüncelerini sanat yolu ile dile getirir. Tarih, toplumun geçmişini ve toplumun başına gelen olayları konu edinir. Edebiyat ve tarih sosyal ve beşeri birer bilim dalı olmaları hasebiyle aralarında güçlü bir ilişki bulunmaktadır. Edebiyat ve özellikle şiir, tarihi ve toplumsal hafızayı canlı tutmak için bir araç olarak kullanmıştır. Kürt edebiyatının önde gelen şairlerinden Tîrêj, şiirlerinde tarihi fazlaca konu edinen şairlerinden birisidir. Bu çalışmada tarih ve edebiyat ilişkisine değinilecek ve Tîrêj’in şiirlerinde tarihin nasıl yer aldığı irdelenecektir. Sonuç olarak Tîrêj’ın konusu tarih olan şiirleri ile tarihi olayları tasvir eden şiirleri ile dastanımsı şiirleri ve tarih maddesi ile tarih ve tarihi olayları aktarmak istediği görülecektir.
