Analysis of Kemalpaşazâde’s Treatise Entitled al-Fark beyne min et- teb‘îzıyye ve min et-tebyîniyye

Abstract

Kemalpaşazâde is one of the important scientists and cultural men of the Ottoman period. He wrote important works in the field of religious sciences such as kalam, fiqh, hadith, and human sciences such as philosophy, language and medicine. The author has written many treatises and works in the field of Arabic language and rhetoric. One of his works on the Arabic language is al-Fark beyne min et-teb'îzıyye ve min et-tebyîniyye. The author al-Fark, in his treatise named beyne min et-teb'îzıyye ve min et-tebyîniyye, deals with the meanings of the preposition (مِنْ), which is one of the important elements in the Arabic language, and examines the aforementioned preposition in terms of these meanings. Because the preposition (مِنْ) is one of the prepositions expressed as literal cerler in the Arabic language, but it means ibtida, teb'iz, declaration and similar meanings in a sentence according to its context. Considering that the Qur'an and hadith, which are the main sources of the religion of Islam, are in Arabic, if the meaning of the prepositions (مِنْ) in them is not expressed correctly, some errors may occur in terms of belief and practice. As a matter of fact, this issue was noticed by the Salaf scholars and took place in their works. Kemalpaşazâde, who is aware of the importance of the subject, also made a concise study by benefiting from the views of previous scholars on the meanings of declaration and teb'îz of the preposition mentioned in his treatise el-Fark. Although it is a valuable work, we have not seen a review of the aforementioned treatise of the author in our country. For this reason, it is important for us to examine Kemalpaşazâde's aforementioned work and bring it to the field. The subject of the study is to reveal the difference between the meanings of teb'îz and tebyîn, of the preposition min, which is used as one of the letter cers in grammatical works and which is widely used among Arabs, through the examination of Kemalpaşazâde's work. Our aim is to make a modest contribution to the field by determining the contributions of the author to the Arabic language related to the preposition (مِنْ) in the aforementioned work.

Özet

Kemalpaşazâde Osmanlı döneminin önemli ilim ve kültür adamlarındandır. Kelam, fıkıh, hadis gibi dinî ilimler, felsefe, dil ve tıp gibi beşerî ilimler sahasında önemli eserler kaleme almıştır. Müellif Arap dili ve belagatı alanında birçok risâle ve eser yazmıştır. Arap dili ile ilgili kaleme aldığı eserlerinden birisi de el-Fark beyne min et- teb‘îzıyye ve min et-tebyîniyye isimli risalesidir. Müellif el-Fark beyne min et- teb‘îzıyye ve min et-tebyîniyye adlı risalesinde Arap dilinde önemli unsurlardan biri olan (مِنْ) edatının ifade ettiği teb‘îz ve tebyîn anlamlarını ele almakta ve söz konusu edatı bu anlamlar açısından incelemektedir. Zira (مِنْ) edatı Arap dilinde harfi cerler olarak ifade edilen edatlardan olmakla beraber cümle içerisinde bağlamına göre ibtidâ, teb‘îz, beyan ve benzeri anlamlara gelmektedir. İslam dininin ana kaynağı olan Kur’ân ve hadisin Arapça olduğu göz önüne alındığında bunlarda geçen (مِنْ) edatlarının hangi anlama geldiği doğru olarak ifade edilmezse inanç ve amel yönünden bazı hatalar ortaya çıkabilir. Konunun öneminin farkında olan Kemalpaşazâde de el-Fark isimli bu risalesinde sözü geçen edatın beyan ve teb‘îz anlamlarına ilişkin önceki âlimlerin de görüşlerinden yararlanarak muhtasar bir çalışma yapmıştır. Değerli bir çalışma olmasına rağmen ülkemizde müellifin adı geçen risalesiyle ilgili herhangi bir incelemeyi görmedik. Bu nedenle Kemalpaşazâde’nin adı geçen eserinin incelenip alana kazandırılması bizim açımızdan önemli görülmektedir. Çalışmanın konusu gramer eserlerinde harfi cerlerden biri olarak geçen ve Araplar arasında çok kullanılan min edatının teb‘îz ve tebyîn anlamları arasındaki farkı Kemalpaşazâde’nin eserinin incelenmesi aracılığıyla ortaya koymaktadır. Amacımız müellifin sözü geçen eserinde (مِنْ) edatıyla ilgili Arap diline katkılarını tespit ederek alana mütevazı bir katkı sunmaktır.
