EFFECTS OF LEVEL OF SATISFACTION LEVEL OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ON CAREER TARGETS FROM ON THE JOB TRAİNİNG: A RESEARCH ON STUDENTS IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive environment with globalization, companies need to deliver higher quality products and services to the market with lower costs, with the goal of achieving operational efficiency and productivity targets and providing competitive advantage over competitors. At this point, accounting is gaining importance both as a discipline and as a profession. This increase in the importance of accountability requires that the staff in this field be trained and qualified. In order to accounting education to be able to achieve its goal and to meet the needs of employing qualified employees, it is necessary to provide students with the opportunity to gain practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge. For this reason internship has an important place in accounting education in terms of adaptation of students to their work life and professional experience. This study’s aim is to determine Accounting and Financial Management students' needs and expectations in the career of the accounting sector and the experiences they have gained on the job training and their effects on expectations and expectations. For this purpose, a survey has been conducted on 139 students who completed on the job training period. As a result of the research, it is determined that the students who participated in the survey were satisfied with the accounting education and on the job training process, and that they had increased their desire to perform the post-training accountancy profession.

Küreselleşmeyle birlikte artan rekabet ortamında işletmeler etkinlik ve verimlilik hedeflerine ulaşmak, rakipleri üzerinde rekabet üstünlüğü sağlamak gibi amaçlarla daha yüksek kaliteli ürün ve hizmetleri daha düşük maliyetlerle piyasaya sunmak durumundadırlar. Bu noktada muhasebe hem bir bilim dalı hem de bir meslek olarak önem kazanmaktadır. Muhasebenin önemindeki bu artış bu alanda çalışanların eğitimli ve nitelikli olmalarını gerekli kılmaktadır. Muhasebe eğitiminin amacına ulaşabilmesi ve işletmelerin nitelikli çalışan istihdam etme ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilmesi için öğrencilere teorik bilgiler yanında uygulamaya yönelik tecrübeleri elde edebilecekleri olanakların da sağlanması gerekmektedir. Bu sebeplerle öğrencilerin iş hayatına adaptasyon sağlanmaları ve mesleki tecrübe edinmeleri açısından iş başında eğitim, muhasebe eğitimi içerisinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Muhasebe ve Finansal Yönetim öğrencilerinin muhasebe sektöründen kariyer konusundaki istek ve beklentileri ile iş başı eğitimden elde ettikleri tecrübelerin bu istek ve beklentileri üzerine etkilerini tespit etmektir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak işbaşında eğitim sürecini tamamlamış 139 adet öğrenci üzerinde anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin almış oldukları muhasebe eğitiminden ve işbaşında eğitim sürecinden memnun oldukları, işbaşında eğitim sonrası muhasebecilik mesleğini icra etme isteklerinin arttığı tespit edilmiştir.
